OUR STORY
IntelliMed main page / Our story
Since its foundation at the end of 2000, IntelliMed Hungária Kft. has grown steadily and dynamically, with continuously increasing revenue. We have an extensive network of relationships across the healthcare sector.
This year the development of the ESZIR system for the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals (MESZK) and of the AMYREG amyloidosis registry continued. We also completed the center and qualification management system of the Hungarian Society of Obesity and Exercise Therapy.
We renewed the web system of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMH): the society's new, responsive website, including its membership, newsletter and congress functions, runs on the doki.NET platform.
A new society has joined the users of our doki.NET system: the Hungarian Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
Our online communication assignments - banner and newsletter campaigns and event recordings for our partners - remain a key part of our services.
A large part of our development capacity continues to be dedicated to a cloud-based healthcare IT development project.
We obtained ISO 9001 quality management certification.
This year we renewed the website of the Hungarian Society of Child Neurology, and started new collaborations with the Hungarian Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Hungarian Cardio-Oncology Working Group Association.
For the Association we developed and operate the national systemic amyloidosis registry (AMYREG), which documents the clinical characteristics, patient pathways, therapies and outcomes of patients in Hungary.
We built the new, joint web system (mott.hu) of the Hungarian Orthopedic and Trauma Society (MOTT), created by the merger of the Hungarian Orthopedic Association and the Hungarian Society for Traumatology.
We continued the further development of the MESZK ESZIR system.
A cloud-based healthcare IT development project again occupied a large part of our development capacity this year.
For our partners we delivered numerous online communication campaigns, newsletters and video content on professional portals.
This year we renewed the web system of the Hungarian Headache Society, and built completely new web systems for the George de Hevesy Hungarian Society of Nuclear Medicine and the Hungarian Kidney Foundation.
We successfully completed the implementation of one of our remaining grant-funded projects, aimed at modernizing our ERP and other internal systems, within which we migrated our existing systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 CRM, with additional modules and reports.
We continued the operation and software support of the MESZK ESZIR system, as well as the development of the professional and patient portals of our key medical society partners, such as the Hungarian Society of Cardiology and the Hungarian Diabetes Association. A large part of our development capacity was occupied by a cloud-based healthcare IT development project.
On behalf of our partners, we recorded numerous congresses and symposia and made them available online.
The live introduction of the ESZIR (Healthcare Vocational Training Information System) developed for the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals (MESZK) continued, alongside our continuous backend support.
This year we fully renewed the websites of various organizations, including the Hungarian Society of Immunology, the Hungarian Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, the Hungarian Society of Nephrology, the Hungarian Society for Osteoporosis and Osteoarthrology, and the patient website of the Hungarian Diabetes Association. Also this year, we unveiled the new web system of the Hungarian Association of Primary Care Pediatricians.
A cloud-based healthcare IT development project was our most important ICT assignment of the year, occupying 95% of our development capacity.
We prepared for the grant opportunities opening in 2023 with European Union support.
We renewed or newly developed the web systems of several medical societies, among which we specifically mention szivderito.hu, the dedicated web system for patients of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology.
We successfully delivered the functional modules of the ESZIR (Healthcare Vocational Training Information System) to the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals (MESZK): 1.) Vocational Training Institution module. 2.) Registry and Accreditation of Dual Training Institutions module. 3.) Sectoral Basic Exam Module. 4.) Chamber Practical Instructor Training and Examination module. 5.) Career Orientation module. 6.) Kossuth Zsuzsanna National Healthcare Vocational Competition module. 7.) Financial Reporting Support module, and other smaller but independent, modular units forming part of the complex ESZIR system (Administration, User Permissions, Master Data, Data Queries, Statistics, Forum, Knowledge Base, Archive, FAQs, Video Library, etc.).
We secured a project fitting our profile - a cloud-based healthcare IT development - which tied up 95% of our development capacity on Microsoft Azure for the remainder of 2022 and for the entire year of 2023.
One of the most significant assignments in 2021 was our success in the invited tender for the development of the ESZIR system (Healthcare Vocational Training Information System) for the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals (MESZK). This project absorbed 95% of our development capacity based on cloud (Microsoft Azure) infrastructure throughout 2021. We successfully expanded the IntelliMed team with new developer colleagues. Concurrently, we structurally and visually renovated the MESZK web system.
We are proud to welcome back our former partner, the Association of Hungarian Medical Societies (MOTESZ), comprising 110 member organizations, for whom we now provide the backend of their web system.
We completely renewed and made several professional society systems responsive (mobile-friendly). We developed a dedicated web system for patients of the Hungarian Society of Hypertension.
Our online communication assignments have retained their significant importance in our service portfolio.
The year 2020 was dominated by COVID, and our work schedule became hybrid, with predominantly remote working. As our partners' activities transformed, so did ours; alongside significantly fewer offline event-related work demands, we received significantly more online communication assignments. We reinforced our infrastructure to support remote work: we now use Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings in daily practice with external partners, established an IP-based phone system with mobile app-based phone extensions, transitioned from MS Navision to Microsoft Business Central (BC), also applying for grant support for our cloud-based ERP system.
We developed a website system for the Hungarian Diabetes Association on the topic of telemedicine, utilizing EMMI grant support. Among others, we also created professional, patient, and healthcare professional websites, as well as mobile applications for the Hungarian Dermatological Society.
We also ventured into completely new territory: due to the mandatory introduction of EESZT (Electronic Health Service Space), we developed online backend components primarily for a company specializing in private medical office systems, enabling their system to receive accreditation from NEAK and EESZT, as well as becoming capable of online tax reporting to the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV).
We successfully completed our long-standing R&D projects: we closed both our GINOP-2.1.7-15-2016-00790 and VEKOP-2.1.7-15-2016-00289 projects and, as committed, developed functional prototypes.
We renewed the European ESVM (vascular-medicine.org) system, redesigned the website of the Airway Management Section of the Hungarian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, and carried out the modernization of several previously developed web systems.
For one of our partners involved in the development and distribution of blood glucose meters, we carried out - and continue to carry out - cloud-based telemedicine development.
With cloud-based development on Microsoft Azure, we completely renewed the Electronic Registry of Diabetes Care Centers for the Hungarian Diabetes Association in 2018-2019.
Our online communication activities within our partners' web systems grew further.
The year 2018 was marked by the implementation of the European Union's GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We made our doki.NET CDMS system GDPR compliant. We integrated functionalities supporting the actual implementation of GDPR requirements into the medical society systems managed by us. Throughout the preparation and implementation, we closely collaborated with the Association of Hungarian Medical Societies (MOTESZ). As a result of our good working relationship, we were able to compile a comprehensive GDPR support package containing legal and IT elements for medical professional organizations. We held informative presentations and Q&A sessions at several events organized jointly with MOTESZ.
At the request of our clients, we continued to modernize previously developed web systems with contemporary, fresh designs and mobile-friendly versions. For the Hungarian Society of Cardiology, we developed a complex, standalone system suitable for assembling the complete scientific program of an event, including presentations, abstract submissions and reviewer interfaces, for a multi-day, multi-location event.
We renewed or built the websites of several medical societies (perinatology, nutrition science and respiratory medicine). Among these, we highlight the rebuilding of the website of the Hungarian Respiratory Society, which we developed using the latest web technologies, based on Microsoft Azure, as a prototype. Significant events of the year 2017 include the recognition of two grant applications submitted in 2016; our R&D project in telemedicine, themed GINOP-2.1.7-15-2016-00790, and our grant application VEKOP-2.1.7-15-2016-00289. Non-refundable grants - upon successful implementation - represent significant financial resources for us to strengthen our future R&D activities. Our online communication activities within our partners' web systems expanded dynamically.
Growing orders from our industry partners demonstrated the effectiveness of our online marketing activities and underlined the cornerstone of IntelliMed: customer confidence. Our partners recognized that the ever-increasing importance of online communication calls for a stable, long-term partner. The Hungarian Society of Laboratory Medicine and the Hungarian Association of Rheumatologists are both long-standing clients for whom IntelliMed carried out several complete visual redesigns of their web systems. With the coordination of the Hungarian Society of Hypertension and the expert assistance of Richter, we developed the much-needed medical decision support app ‘Hypertension Therapy’ for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. We were actively involved in the e-Health Working Group of the ICT Association of Hungary and placed strong emphasis on agile software development methods in our projects. Our Azure-based human resource and time management system was introduced in several clinics. In mid-2016 our website was also redesigned and made multilingual.
IntelliMed continued to strengthen its relationships with its partners, including the fine-tuning of its membership and fee management and e-receipt systems. A series of smaller projects was also delivered, including the websites of the Hungarian Society of Sport Medicine, the Hungarian Endosonography Club and the Hungarian Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. IntelliMed redesigned and upgraded the websites of the Hungarian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy and the Hungarian “Progress for Rheumatology” Foundation, and delivered a dedicated mobile website version for the Hungarian Society of Cardiology. Numerous online communication campaigns were organized and successfully carried out through our partners' web systems. In collaboration with the Hungarian Medical Chamber and several medical societies, we remained committed to the ‘KonziliuMOK’ (Concilium) project. We also won grant funding to prepare for direct EU (Horizon 2020) applications.
IntelliMed developed an electronic scheduling system for the 1st Department of Pediatrics of Semmelweis University (Budapest, Hungary), which made the routine and on-call schedules of physicians, residents and external staff - and the staffing levels needed for safe patient care - easier to plan and continuously verifiable. The application is built on Microsoft technologies, and the Azure cloud service ensures stable system operation. Following the positive feedback, the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Semmelweis University also implemented our system. Our aim was to turn towards foreign markets.
IntelliMed won more than HUF 19.33 million (approx. USD 75,000) in non-refundable EU grants under the Economic Development Operational Program, which supports foreign market entry for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Our project, with a total budget of HUF 38.67 million (approx. USD 145,000), aimed to increase our international competitiveness and presence.
IntelliMed launched a nationwide data update campaign for the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals and continued to develop the Chamber’s online membership and fee management system. The Chamber also ordered an online e-learning system for credit-point courses, handling more than 30,000 online exams a year. IntelliMed launched an electronic membership fee invoice and tax certificate service (e-invoice system) for the Hungarian Medical Chamber: members could view their membership fee balance and download their invoices and tax certificates online. IntelliMed completed the prototype of the Anesthesiology Daily Online Reporting and Documentation System (ANOJE). The state-of-the-art, cloud-based system was running in test mode in three hospitals and clinics.
IntelliMed launched a nationwide data update campaign for the Hungarian Medical Chamber, through which all members of the Chamber could update their personal data in the online database. This year we also welcomed a prominent new partner, the Hungarian Chamber of Healthcare Professionals, which commissioned us to create its new web system after seeing our services for the Hungarian Medical Chamber. Together with our partner NetLock Ltd., IntelliMed prepared the electronic remote voting of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology. The Hungarian Pediatric Association and the National Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation also chose our systems.
IntelliMed developed a convenient online membership fee payment module, which makes paying membership fees easier for members and allows societies to keep electronic records of payments with virtually no administrative staff. It was first activated for the Hungarian Society of Cardiology. Also in 2011, the Hungarian Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and the Hungarian Society for Immunology chose our system.
The electronic remote voting of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology was successfully completed together with our partner NetLock Ltd. The Hungarian Psychiatric Association, the Hungarian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the Hungarian Society of Internal Medicine also chose our doki.NET systems. IntelliMed designed and published individual websites for the clinics of the University of Debrecen, integrated with the university's central website (deoec.hu).
In 2010 IntelliMed became a Microsoft Online Services Partner. We continuously renewed and rebuilt the websites we operate to meet current standards, which was no small task, as IntelliMed was operating nearly 100 websites by 2010.
77 Elektronika Kft., the Hungarian market leader in blood glucose meters, commissioned IntelliMed to develop an internet-based support, data collection and analysis system for their blood glucose meters (dcont.hu). The system is free of charge for users of Dcont blood glucose meters.
IntelliMed was awarded a contract for an integrated web-based intranet system and for independent web systems for the clinics of the University of Debrecen. IntelliMed also completed the overhaul of the Hungarian Medical Chamber’s web system, including the compatibility of our portal system with the physicians’ ID chip cards carried by 43,000 Hungarian Medical Chamber members.
The Medical and Health Science Center of the University of Debrecen (DE OEC) awarded IntelliMed several contracts. While we received inquiries from more and more partners, IntelliMed was also affected by the cuts in healthcare IT spending. 2007 was spent modernizing and restructuring our infrastructure. We performed a complete refactoring of the doki.NET portal server and prepared a number of new services for 2008.
IntelliMed entered into a long-term cooperation with the Observer media monitoring agency to provide professional content management services. IntelliMed began planning the implementation of CRM and ERP systems with external partners and launched the gluco.NET project. SmartCard user authentication and an e-learning program were introduced for cardiologists and hypertension specialists. 2006 was our most successful business year to date.
More and more clients entrusted IntelliMed with both technology and communication tasks. The e-learning program of osteoporosis.hu was rated among the most successful electronic projects by the industry press. The Electronic Registry of Diabetes Care Centers was launched, through which more than 180 diabetes care units are qualified, accredited and registered nationwide.
Our e-learning program and SmartCard systems were launched. Lectures for medical students were regularly broadcast from the 1st Department of Internal Medicine of Semmelweis University. IntelliMed won a significant grant from the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, through which the National Anesthesiology Reporting System ANESZTINFO (Hungarian abbreviation: OJE) was established. This marked the beginning of reporting professional data via the internet in Hungary.
The Hungarian Association of Rheumatologists awarded IntelliMed its contract. Through the internet-based data collection system of the Hungarian Osteoporosis Risk Questionnaire, 11 osteoporosis centers collected anonymous data from more than 3,500 patients in barely three months. These data have since been used in many publications and presentations. In 2003 IntelliMed moved to a new office with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
IntelliMed began to offer complex solutions (i.e., the organization and management of electronic communication campaigns in addition to supplying technology). IntelliMed was commissioned to perform additional electronic marketing activities for our clients in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Hungarian Diabetes Association and the Hungarian Orthopedic Association both awarded contracts to IntelliMed. Many medical societies approached us to build their electronic communication systems, and through these projects we established connections with numerous industry partners.
IntelliMed was founded in December 2000. IntelliMed provided expert consultation and IT support to the Hungarian Osteoporosis Society, the Hungarian Society of Hypertension and the Hungarian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy.
